– Edge to Edge: $0.020 per sq in
– Custom: $0.030 – $0.060 per sq in
– Minimum quilting charge – $50

Edge to Edge (E2E) – involves an single overall pattern design that covers the entire quilt side to side.
Custom – involves anything beyond E2E. This would be any combination of several treatments such as multiple blocks or patterns, cropping, sashing, borders, stitch in the ditch, etc. The price for a custom quilt will be negotiated with you during initial consultation which will involve getting a good look at your quilt top and backing and understanding your desires and choices of patterns, threads, variety of treatments and so on.
Additional Charges
– Batting: $11.00 per yard when supplied by RFQ – our batting of choice is Warm & Natural needled cotton batting: 87.5% Natural Cotton & 12.5% Polypropylene
– Extra Prep: $15.00 per hour (see “Prepping Your Quilt” below to avoid these additional charges)
– Return Shipping: $15.00 minimum (extra charges apply outside the contiguous USA)
Prepping Your Quilt
Here are a few things you can do to make the quilting process a successful and pleasant experience for us both… not to mention save you time and money!
– Ironing: Please iron both the quilt top and the backing material. RFQ knows there will be a certain amount of normal creasing due to folding for delivery, etc. Sorry, but no, “normal creasing” does not include projects that have been wadded up and/or stuffed into a grocery bag for delivery.
– Squaring: Make sure your quilt top, backing material and batting are as square as possible and free of puckers or ripples. This really helps speed up the entire process and ensures the best stitching possible. I examine every quilt top, backing material and batting prior to loading and stitching.
– Backing and Batting: Your backing material and batting should be at least 3 inches wider than the quilt top on all four sides… in other words, at least 6 inches wider and longer than the quilt top overall. An example would be if your quilt top is 68 by 74 inches, your backing material and batting needs to be at least 74 by 80 inches. This will ensure that the machine has ample room to stitch without any obstructions.
